At D. L. H. we recycle vehicles fully in compliance with all current legislation. Our Recycling Centre at Happisburgh is fully equipped to offer a full decontamination system, safely dealing with waste fluids, glass, rubber, plastics and metal. The Decontamination Process      In the Decontamination Bay, all fluids are safely removed and stored. Fuels Oils - Engine, Transmission and Differential Hydraulic fluids, e.g. Power Steering Air conditioning fluids Coolants Screenwash Any mercury switches are removed at this point. Batteries are removed, and their acids safely extracted. Tyres are taken off, along with any lead balancing weights on the wheels. Shock aborbers are removed. The engines are then removed, before being stripped down and the parts sorted according to their type, e.g. Ferrous Metals. The vehicle shell then gets crushed in the Baler, ready to move on to the shredding facility. More Baler Pictures All items removed are stored safely before going on to further processing.
